Third Great South West Floating Wind Seminar took place next Thursday (27^th June) which was attended by a wide range  representatives from across the regions private sector, public sector and research institutions.

The event took further the opportunity to develop floating offshore wind in the region.

Speakers included:

• Josie Gough, BEIS – overview of the UKG strategic context, e.g. Energy White Paper, Offshore Wind Sector Deal, Comprehensive Sector Deal
• Gavin Smart, Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult – Translating the macro opportunity into meaningful opportunities for industry including SME’s
• Lee Richards, University of Plymouth – ORE SuperGen update
• Claire Gibson, Wave Hub Ltd – WaveHub and Pembrokeshire Demonstration Zone progress overview
• Clive Goodman, Western Power Distribution – Overview of the South West Regional Development Plan produced in collaboration with National Grid
• Matt Hodson, Marine Hub Cornwall – Feedback from the last FLOW Seminar
• Steve Jermy, CIOS LEP – Task Force update & update on Cornish Energy Strategy/ Climate Change Emergency
