PML Applications is the commercial arm of Plymouth Marine Laboratory, one of the UK’s foremost marine research organisations. We work with a range of different organisations to research and develop solutions in the fields of marine technology, marine environmental research, coastal innovation, collaborative scientific commercialisation, marine carbon dioxide removal and biofouling control.
Sam is the manager of PML Applications’ Centre for Coastal Technologies (CCT), which specialises in removing CO2 from the ocean, autonomous vessels, instrument and sensor testing and the deployment of assets at sea.
We’re a uniquely diverse marine environmental consultancy, providing scientific research, consulting and training services to help you understand the marine environment’s impact on your business, and your impact on the marine environment. We accelerate new technologies for a sustainable blue economy.
Sam joined PML Applications as a molecular biologist working in the ballast water centre. As manager of the CCT, he’s responsible for managing the team, negotiating contracts and delivering projects.
We work with some of the world’s biggest names in shipping, offshore energy, aquaculture and environmental services. Recent work includes sea trials for defence engineers Thales and developing a framework for conducting carbon dioxide removal trials in an environmentally safe fashion.
We’re experts in the fields of marine biology, biofouling, corrosion and remote sensing. In addition to the CCT, our other Centres of Excellence, Marine Biofouling and Corrosion, Geospatial Applications and Environmental Solutions, have built a reputation for independence and impartiality, with world-class testing facilities and expertise dedicated to bridging the gap between research and real-world practical solutions.
Our services are paid for but before quoting we always have a discussion with you, and we’ll suggest how we can help.
