A day ahead of Maritime UK South West’s Ocean Tech Expo, Plymouth – the National Centre for Marine Autonomy – will host a demonstration day offering companies the chance to experience the latest developments in underwater monitoring, subsea communications and marine technology.
The day will be centred around Smart Sound Plymouth, the UK’s leading testing facility for marine autonomy and uncrewed systems, led by Plymouth Marine Laboratory (PML) in collaboration with the University of Plymouth. It offers testing backed by decades of expertise across defence, offshore industries and marine science that is now being expanded thanks to the Smart Sound Connect Subsurface (SSCS) initiative, led by the University, which will enable real-time positioning and telemetry for trialling innovative technologies.
On Tuesday 16 June, leading marine technology company Sonardyne – in collaboration with PML and the University – is bringing together industry professionals, technology partners and innovators to explore real-world applications and live demonstrations across offshore energy, defence, science and autonomous marine operations.
