Last week Cefas released their latest newsletter relating to aquaculture. Seafood Hazards is one of the four interconnected themes contributing to the goals of the Cefas Science and Evidence Strategy through which we aim to maintain and grow the impact of our science, advice, innovation and collaboration. The purpose of the Seafood Hazards theme is to support the protection of humans and animals from biological and chemical hazards in water and seafood. By considering the health of our planet and all life as a continuum (One Health), Cefas science will focus on cutting-edge methodological development and application for characterisation of aquatic animal and human pathogen and chemical hazards, in support of safe and sustainable seafood production and consumption at home and overseas.
