MUKSW is recruiting an Innovation Manager

Maritime UK South West is recruiting an Innovation Manager to support the developing maritime innovation cluster in the South West.

In 2024 MUKSW won the £150,000 contract via Innovate UK to deliver the “GSW Marine & Maritime Launchpad Cluster Innovation Program” between September 2024 and June 2026”.

In order to deliver this program MUKSW plan to recruit an Innovation Manager to deliver a program of innovation support to the maritime sector across the SW. The post is a fixed term contract between Sept/Oct 24 and June 26. However the ambition is to create a sustainable commercial model such that at project close in June 2026 sufficient revenues will be in place to finance the role in the longer term.

Role outputs include:

  • Conducting an audit of industry need and enhancing existing sector knowledge.
  • Developing web and print collateral utilising MUKSW existing national and international profile to champion and promote the culture and reputation of cluster innovation.
  • Running a programme of at least 12 innovation sandpits
  • Hosting 12 online drop-in problem-solving/innovation transfer sessions
  • Organising an “Ocean Tech Expo”,
  • Establishing a mentor network,
  • Offering 1:1 business support
  • Project administration and promotion.
